PLR Sucks!
Okay, when it comes to PLR, I am a little bias as I have a store that contains low priced private label rights digital downloads.
Even with my bias, there are a few reasons why I believe it can suck…
It sucks when you use it as a gift for a give-away event. No, let me say it differently. When you use it as a gift and you don’t change it. Good chance many people have already seen it or already have it just by seeing the outdated terrible looking cover. You automatically lessen your list potential. At the very least make a new cover! It wouldn’t hurt, to change the product itself.
PLR sucks when you try using it as a bribe for your squeeze page. Just as with the above give-away scenario, many will have already seen it and probably already have it collecting dust on their hard drive.
I’ve been a strong supporter of PLR, but I’ve always stated that it should be used as a starting point and should be changed.
“If I need to change it, why shouldn’t I just create my own product from scratch?”
Valid point, but not when it comes to time. It si far quicker to edit a PLR product than it is to start from ground zero, I know I’ve been in both places.
Sure I still create my own “stuff” from scratch, but when I need something fast, PLR does the trick.
It’s even more important for those that are just starting out. People who don’t know the content or the nice, or just don’t believe they have the proper writing skills.
As always, decide for your self. We all are limited, we only have so much time in the day. Would you rather spend your time creating products or making money?
