You didn’t know I had an empire? Sure I do, started building it in 1998.

I don’t have websites that money money, I have an empire that makes money.

Maybe my title was a little too dramatic, or maybe not. It really has risen and fell a few times over the years. Although it’s ALWAYS paid me more than any regular “job” would afford, no matter how much work I did or didn’t do at any given point in my empires life.

I can tell you exactly why each time my empire grew and I can also tell you why each time it fell. On either occasion it boiled down to one little but powerful word, action.

When my empire was growing and my income was increasing, it was because I was working, I was taking action.

If there is one thing, most likely the biggest factor that stops people making money online, it has to be not getting started. Bare none, no other “problem” comes close. If you’ve read my blog you’ve probably heard me say it many times. Why do I keep repeating it? Because some people still don’t get it.

Hey, I’ve been there, it’s tough to get going in the begining, even down the road I’ve been less than motivated. It’s even harder to be motivated when you really need the cash. Oh boy, I’ve been there.

So how do you “get going”?

Start with smaller tasks, like I talked about the other day, small victories, it’s the best way I’ve found to get on the ball. Funny thing happens, after you get in gear, it seems a little easier to stay in motion. Hard to believe but true. Some times I’ll even completely clean off my desk, like a fresh start, to get myself going. Every one is different I guess

this is one of the biggest challenges of working your own business, you do not have a boss looking over your shoulder, you don’t have the same urgency to work to make sure you get your check.

You have to figure out what gets you in motion, like I said, every one is different, and keeps you going. I wish I had some magic formula, but I don’t.

I can make you one promise, if you work enough, your bond to find success.

The biggest obsticle I’ve come across, even to this day, is getting motivated enough to take action on what I needed and know I have to get done, or finished.

I know I am not the only one, it plagues all at one time or another. Some more than others.

Though I’m not perfected yet, one way I’ve found to get myself out the “not-doing-what-needs-to-be-done” rut is to start with small victories. That is doing little tasks or chores that are easy to actually finish.

Right now I have a new traffic e-book to finish and I need to get a bunch of viral freebies to get going. So how am I getting myself in the groove today?

Doing the laundry. Ya really.

I’ve been the laundry boy here in my house for a while, every since it was admitted that while my wife was great at doing so many things, including getting the laundry started, she had a strange aversion to putting it away. Bless her, she is a fantasic wife and mother, just washing clothes is not her thing. We all have our own.

But this chore is something I can finish and I can feel good about it, more importantly, it’s something that is getting me to take action, which will get me taking action in other area’s.

Works for me.

Once again it seems there is yet another round of high ticket money making products being pushed by every one. I’ve been working on the internet since 1998, I’ve seen so many things, but I have yet to find a way of making money for doing nothing. I get so tired of all the marketers trying to sell the masses on making it big without doing anything, and usually paying a big price for the secret.

No matter how it’s spelled out, explained or presented, there is and always will be one major factor lacking in any incoming producing product. There can be video’s explaining everything in complete, minute detail, nothing left out. Audio’s can tell the tale with step by step presion.

What’s left? You taking action. Not one of them can do it for you, no matter the precived value. Read that again. Not one of them can do it for you.

Can you make money with a $1500 home study course? Yes.

Can you make money with a $17 Information Product? Yes.

Only if you ….

More and more I see people complain they can’t make any money on the Internet. A number lately saying they have spent thousands of dollars on information, e-books, videos and even expensive classes, but yet they don’t make a dime.

These same people posting on a new site waiting for the new lauch, hoping this will be the big break, their road to riches. Hoping yet another “guru” will tell all his secrets and they will finally make it big, the cash rolling in without much effort.

Some of the same people saying  they don’t want to do anything complicated like writing an e-book, joint ventures, or heaven forbid, building a list.

Is this you? Does it sound familiar? I sure hope not, you might not like the rest of this post.

I don’t mean to make light of people or make fun of them, I’ve been there myself at one point or another in my Internet career.

Problem is, these same people could spend thousands more and add millions of pdf’s on their hard drive and it would’nt matter. They want the secret formula for getting rich. Problem is most already know the great secret, but will never realize or admit it.

Sir Francis Bacon coined the phrase, “Knowledge is Power”. I thank him for the quote, but he was’nt quite right, well at least in my world. It should have been “Knowledge is Potential Power”.

You could have all the knowledge in the world, all the reports and programs available on the net, every e-book ever written, every pdf ever created…

You could know everything, but it’s worth nothing if you dont use the knowledge and take action.

It’s only as complicated as you make it.

I’m sure by now you’ve figured out that your not the only one who is trying to sell something and make a living on the internet. The more time you spend on the net and the more you sift your way though all the webpages, which seems never ending, the more you realize, there’s alot of competition, probably much more than you ever thought.

Granted your going to have some competition, but you know what? It does’nt matter, it really does’nt.

For one thing, the net is always growing, every day new users are coming on line. Every day there are new customers and prospects.

If you work hard and sell better than the next guy, then you’ll get more of the sales. If you provide your customers with superior producs and service, often you’ll have an edge over much of your competition. You have every oppurtunity as the next marketer. Much of the beauty of the net is that it levels the playing field if you use it your advantage.

On the other hand, it you do nothing but wishing, hoping and dreaming, or worring about how much competition there is, who’s going to get YOUR customers?

It could be me.
