You didn’t know I had an empire? Sure I do, started building it in 1998.

I don’t have websites that money money, I have an empire that makes money.

Maybe my title was a little too dramatic, or maybe not. It really has risen and fell a few times over the years. Although it’s ALWAYS paid me more than any regular “job” would afford, no matter how much work I did or didn’t do at any given point in my empires life.

I can tell you exactly why each time my empire grew and I can also tell you why each time it fell. On either occasion it boiled down to one little but powerful word, action.

When my empire was growing and my income was increasing, it was because I was working, I was taking action.

When my empire was falling it was because, you guessed it, I was’nt taking action. I came up with plenty of excuses, humans are good at that. I said I was burnt out, or tired of working on the net. I justified the lack of work, we all do it.

There is actually a part two to this post… just as important.

In the past I’ve made the mistake of putting all my eggs in one basket. My biggest mistake was to rely on pure search engine traffic.

It’s hard to blame me, when your ranked well for many keywords and your raking in the sales, it’s a great feeling. Top of the world mom.

Then the bottom falls out…

As it often does. Even legitimate linking and and SEO models stop working, too quickly some times. Usually it comes to a head when so many are using the same ideas. Can be quick frustrating and most important, very, very, discouraging. It’s even more difficult to, keep-on-going-on, when everything goes in the dump.

So… Lesson two from Ron’s School of Internet Hard Knocks … Have as many different traffic sources as possible.

Keep-on-going-on in good times and bad.

You might be thinking, well if I am making good money, I’d be pumped up to make even more! Sounds logical, but if your like me and many other people, when the money comes rolling in, we can, and often do, become lazy.

“Hey, we worked hard for those dollars, we want to enjoy them!”

You have to it coming to you, no doubt. You deserve it! Hell, you’ve done more than 98% of the population has even thought of doing. Pat yourself on the back! Seriously.

Listen to me, I will tell you for a fact, it’s all to easy to sit back too long or too much when the going is good. Been there, done that.

Sum it up?

1. Take Action! Massive action brings massive results.
2. Multiple Income/traffic streams
3. Keep working

What more is there? What more do you need? For most folks it’s just getting off their butts and doing something. They need to stop “learning” and doing. They need to stop buying dreams and start making their own.
