Least thats how most people think.

I was watching a TV show today, Law and Order, my Latest Addiction. The story was based on a murder in the wall street district. Long story short, the one guy they thought did the murder was a super smart trader, had made millions for the firm. Thing that struck me was that every one was calling him “so smart”, one guy even went to say he was smarter than 99% of the population.

Of course it was just a fictitious television story, but that is how most folks think. Just because a guy or gal is a huge success, it is only because he or she is smarter than most every one else. I personally don’t buy the being smarter clause.

I believe it not a matter of being smarter, it is a matter of taking more action than most of the population. Some one could have the the highest IQ in the world, but if they don’t take action, how can they be successful?

By the same token, most any one can learn most anything they want to, if they so desire it and take action. A normal, seemingly less intelligent person could be a incredible success if they took enough action.

Babe Ruth was seen as a superstar because of his home runs, no one thinks about all the ones he had missed. Not that the guy wasn’t a sports legend, he was a guy that hit alot and some made it out of the park.

Do you think Michael Jordan would be as successful if he hadn’t practiced as much as he did before he rocked the court?

For me, you don’t have to be smarter or more talented than most of the population, any one can be anything they want or do anything they want, if they want it bad enough and take enough action.

PayPal Sandbox

I was surprised to find out that not many folks know about PayPal’s testing system. For those that have not heard of it, it’s called the PayPal Sandbox. You can test your complete sales system as if you are a paying customer. I see so many people try to bug others to buy from them so the system can be tested, no reason for it.

It’s quite easy to get started. Simply go to https://developer.paypal.com and sign up. You’ll need two account, one as a seller and one as a buyer. You will also need to change any instance where you scripts hooked up to paypal. Usually the change is from paypal.com to sandbox.paypal.com, but check your scripts to be sure.

Easy enough? Test to your hearts content and de-bug your sales process.

For those that use $7 dollar secrets script, I created a free pdf that explains how to use PayPal’s sandbox with the $7 dollar scripts. You can find it at Rak Websites.com

I got to thinking today that it might seem to you that I only rant about poor support. I only talk about the folks who didn’t do me right. So I thought it was time for an over due great support rant. (I still get to rant, it’s my blog).

I am actually going to go one step further and talk about the best support I’ve ever received from an Internet Marketing company. At least to date.

The company that seems to pull out all the stops when it comes to customer service is a Auto Responder service called AWeber. I remember when I signed up, it was kind of surprising. First was a welcome phone call from the company which I missed because I wasn’t home. Next was a letter in the mailing welcoming me to the service. These really are not “big” things, but it’s amazing the impact they can create.

You might be thinking that a support system such as above would be too much work. In reality, once set up as a system, how much work would it really be? Better yet, what would it do for your business or your reputation? Maybe even another way to reassure the customer they made a great choice?

In case your wondering, the second runner up would be a Marketer by the name of David Bullock.

To my defense, I would like to say, i am not that hard to please, just in case your wondering. Just like any one else, treat others as you’d want to be treated, thats all I ask for.

One company in particular seems to have a great hold on “cool”. Today I’m talking about Apple.

Can’t say my Ipod is really that much better than other mp3 players I’ve owned in the past. In fact I’ve come to believe that my last mp3 player had better sound and I know I had little trouble playing all my songs on the old one. Can’t say the same for the current player. But the new one is “cool”.

I could say the same for my cell phone, it does it’s job and works perfectly fine, but I must admit, I’ve got my eye on a new Iphone. Why? Well I could say it’s because it has all those great features (mine doesn’t even have a color screen), but honestly, I could probably live without it if I had to. My world would still keep going on, even without. I could get by, but again, it’s pretty cool.

Maybe it’s more than just a corner on “cool”, maybe it goes a little deeper? Such as, “we” would be cool if we had it. Hhmm.. interesting.

Could you make your product or service cool? Or make your customers feel cool for having your stuff? There’s always a way.

We all get stuck in a rut, I know I have and still do at times. It’s easy to admit (least to ourselves), but the fix it is a whole other thing altogether.

You could say, “Just Do It!”. Fine for the commercials, but not exactly a strong enough motivator for most.

I’ve found that doing something, anything is a good start. Even just something little. Often it has sprung me into doing or wanting to do. Guess you could say it gets my brain juices going, least it seems that way.

Get rid of distractions.

I’m bad for watching tv, it’s too easy and to unproductive. It also doesn’t to have a television in the office.

Figure out what motivates you. Maybe it’s money or it could be “things”. Make a list and read it all the time. Just make sure to be specific.

I need to add to this when I’m feelling more motivated and more awake..:)

Today is just a little warning for those folks that use articles from article membership sites. Actually it’s really a rant, because it kinda ticks me off when I think about it.

I guess I was blind as a bat when I joined a certain article membership site. The deal was I paid a monthly membership and I could use any and all of the articles from the site. The price was pretty good with quite a large selection of articles, ranging in many niches.

That is until I quit.

I really never used the service as I preferred to write my own articles, just my preference.

I was in for a shock…

In the cancellation message from the membership site, it stated since I was no longer a member, I no longer had any rights to use any of the articles. This also meant any I might have used in the past.

What?

Seems like I could have been held for ransom. If I had used 100 articles and submitted them across the net, since I was no longer a member, I would have to go out and take them ALL down!

My bad for not reading the fine print before I joined. Don’t make my mistake.

Seems every day I see a commercial for yet another “new” cellphone. Am I the only one?

What’s amazing is that every “new” phone is still just a phone. In reality, do any of them really have some new feature that no other cell phone doesn’t have?

Nope.

Are they “cooler” than the rest?

You betcha.

Besides the Iphone (another story, another day), most every brand new phone is really not much different than the other 100 old ones. You can still make calls, maybe listen to music and possibly surf the web. Nothing new here. Except that it’s so “Cooler” and my teenage daughter has to have it and she wouldn’t be a “somebody” without it. Well, thats what they want you to think.

What are they doing? Repackaging, Redesigning and Re-Inventing. Does it work? Of course it does.

Do you have a product that has competition? Could you Re-Invent it? Repackage? Re-Design? Think it might make your sales rise?

Stimpy says it could. Guess it’s up to you.
